Due to increased work responsibilities I haven’t been able to/ have been less motivated to work on personal projects. I was hitting creative blocks and having trouble rationalizing continuation of projects which has led me to start work on a different game, working title: Sootheslayer.
The current plan for Sootheslayer is for it to be a 2D Mystery Dungeon-esque RPG . The player’s actions and choices will affect their alignment on Lawful/Chaotic and Good/Evil binaries. Many of the ideas drafted for this game are spiritual successors from DDED with the main difference between the projects being DDED being a text-based game built with Twine 2 and Sootheslayer being built with C# Unity. Unity uses methods similar to those that I use in my main developer job and makes it quite easy to create, customize, and visualize game assets.
